Charming stay with excellent traditional cuisine
We had a wonderful time during our one-night stay. The hotel boasts a cozy atmosphere filled with old-world charm, complemented by delicious meals featuring locally sourced ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the hearty Highland breakfast, which was a highlight of our experience. road noise from outside disrupted our sleep a bit.

It was just a balanced option for a transient visit in Backies with great value for money. The locally fished prawns cooked in garlic butter were a delightful surprise. Be sure to ask about gluten-free meal options.

The location is perfect for families, with beautiful beaches just a short drive away. Plus, the teens loved that there was a pool to relax after our day at the castle, a real hit!
My kids wished the menu had more options for picky eaters.

good potential but needs improvements
The restaurant had welcoming service and a cozy atmosphere, making meals enjoyable. The staff were polite and attentive, which helped ease some discomfort during the stay. I appreciated the location's accessibility to local attractions, offering great opportunities for exploring.
The room's proximity to a busy road made for a very noisy night.

The room offered a classic touch that echoed Highland charm, with clean and comfortable bed linen contributing to a decent stay. Breakfast featured local produce with generous portion sizes, a nice touch for those with an appetite.
The lack of soundproofing was notable, with street noise intruding during the night, which might disrupt light sleepers. Heating in the room left much to be desired, with only an old electric heater providing warmth during chilly nights. the hotel's online information regarding amenities felt misleading, as promised features like strong Wi-Fi were inconsistent and sometimes unavailable in the rooms, which limited connectivity during my stay.
